Trinity Center is a picturesque mountain community situated along the upper Trinity River near the northern shores of Trinity Lake, one of California's largest reservoirs. Surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Trinity Alps Wilderness and the Trinity Divide, Trinity Center offers some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in all of Northern California. Originally a Gold Rush settlement, the town was relocated in the 1960s when Trinity Dam created the lake, and it has since become a beloved destination for outdoor recreation and serene mountain living.
Trinity Center has roots stretching back to the Gold Rush era when miners flocked to the region seeking their fortunes along the Trinity River. The original town of Trinity Center was relocated in the 1960s when Clair Engle Lake (now Trinity Lake) was created by the construction of Trinity Dam. The community rebuilt on higher ground overlooking the lake and has since become a beloved hub for outdoor recreation and mountain living, retaining its pioneer spirit while embracing a new chapter.
